the year's gigs done-costa rica ahead
yes, my gig travels are done for the year-- home at last - it ended
well in portland,or. for a taping of E-TOWN- that great radio show
hosted by nick & helen forster- this taping was with guests griffin
house, sara mcglachlin & me- joining my set were portlanders: darol
anger (fiddle) & gary ogan (vocals)& the etones- & the
e-chievement award went to ed kerns for great work he is doing in
portland to involve the planting of thousands of trees along a great
rails to trails area of portland-- he gets kids, adults, government,
even bikers, to plant trees in that area-- e-town was a great way to
end my gig year
now on to costa rica & songwriting workshop (dec.27 to jan.3)YES THERE IS STILL TIME TO JOIN US-- SPREAD THE WORD
and now home sweet home-- cooking - kids & cat rubbing-- i joined a
csa (maybe csa stands for Community Sustainable Agriculture...meaning i
buy directly from a local farm for veggies & eggs & such) ---
so, my table is piled w/ fall veggies that i have not been able to cook
until now (home sweet home)-- i will start w/ a sweet potato pie (w/
creme brulee top) since i have 20 sweet potatoes -- there will be
soupmaking & veggie roasting around here
got some studio stuff coming up-- w/ projects for steve earle also
craig carruthers & jessica harp -- and i will work on my own stuff
(oh, where to begin...) & i have a book idea that i will begin this
winter-- also, i have had an outdoor sauna built out back just in time
for winter temps -- (the sweat version of blood, sweat & tears)--
also, i hit powell's books in portland(maybe the largest bookstore i
have ever been in) & city lights bookstore in san fran soes i have
mucho books to ponder over the weeks ahead
have a great thanksgiving - and really be full of thanks for anything-- thanks is contageous
