if it is mid-september, it means a very cool festival in bristol, va./tn. is happening-i am on my way there for a fri & sat show in the morning when i wake-

i have been there for several years running & there is talk of having me as a regular every year

so, for THIS month's new moon/new music i have chosen last year's set at rhythm & roots where i was solo-- i remember a good weather crowd- the street was filled thousands back (they close down the streets of downtown & set up many stages) and i remember just getting up there & firing away

and listening to the set, it sounded like i was enjoying the guitar sound that night because i was playing extra solo-y and extra playful - i also remember being there w/ my sons as road crew setting up my stuff & tearing down

(one detail: the reason there is no encore included here is my sons had pulled the gear when i left the stage and even though the crowd wanted more my equipment was already unplugged & pulled (we later agreed to wait till i give the word on pulling gear) -- but they did a great job of busting right in there - we later ate at the only place open- SHONEYS and had a slim jim (not slimming at all)
