fireman's kitchen in hickory, nc. sometime in this millenium

so here is the back half of highlights from the same fireman's kitchen show as last nmnm-both take place over the same weekend

- here is flat & sharp singing, missed lyrics & entire verses missing (edmund fitzgerald) right along w/ good spirited stuff - funny thing about spirited stuff, it helps to excuse less than perfect performance (hopefully)

- believe me, i do not like to miss verses from a great song such as lightfoot's wreck of the edmund fitzgerald; but, i have included it...just because, the spirit is there

another thing w/ this episode of nmnm is it has 3 songs morphed together- i remember doing this for awhile years ago (still do when i feel like it) - the reason was i didn't want to hear perfunctory applause at the end of a song sometimes-- the way i "solved" this was to morph songs together therefore keeping a vibe or mood going instead of stopping for the aw-shucks moment - sometimes the morphing worked/sometimes it just made people an extra 13 minutes late to their babysitter-

applause is still an odd thing, like encores- i guess you want it but it'd be allright w/ me if we could pass on it sometime (silence is also an appropriate reaction, even considering is okay)

- one of these days i swear that i will ask an audience to hum their response at the end of a song, to vocalize rather than slapping their hands together and an encore can be to stand and vocalize (maybe camptown races)- but no hand claps - wouldn't that be cool?

i remember when i went to both the soviet ballet and the soviet circus in moscow '87, they applauded in time over there: clap - clap - clap - clap... in time and in unison - that'd be cool too; then you could do a boogie dance to the rhythm as you approach the stage on encore (aw-shucks be damned!)

enjoy this, another less than perfect performance, episode ten. hey, it's live- enjoy and i have a special holiday idea for next month- and this thanksgiving let's be thankful & grateful.
