well, here i am in the new decade...
well, here i am in the new decade (2010) and getting ready for my 1st
travel of the year- to london, glasgow & northern-ish england
i
have been a hibernating bear-soaking up as much down time & robe
daze as i could bargain for after a busy holiday time & costa rica
time
as well as busy recording time in early december
i did at least 3 cool things:
i was on a 2 week recording session (as player & singer) of robert plant's here in nashville produced by buddy miller
and
i produced a dear friend's record- marcus hummon - in my home studio (really it is my living room)
and
i & mary gauthier & beth nielsen chapman led song food's latest
songwriting retreat over new years (dec 26 to jan 3) in costa rica
- 4 things- i got a bowling ball for xmas
i am proud of all the projects & can not wait for folks to know about these records:
the robert plant & the marcus hummon...so stay tuned about that
also, friends have grammy nominations on records i got to work on- sarah jarosz, maura o'connell, & steve earle
also,
my new record, a crooked road, will be out in spring --- so art work & all sorts of stuff is going on with that
and going today to play w/ some old & new friends in the uk.
- my friend danny thompson on a night of his w/ tim obrien, eddi reader, luka bloom & martin simpson & more
- the trans atlantic sessions w/ jerry douglas & tim & dan tyminski, sara watkins, mollie o'brien & more
- also playing with beth nielsen chapman on her night in glasgow (w/ my friend marcus hummon) - check out beth's new cd that has 2 songs we wrote & i play & sing on it, as well
- but first: my solo gig in london (i understand they have a killer boesendorfer piano at blackheath halls)
so, here's to our new decade & all the good music around us
go & find it or maybe it'll find you
time to find the suitcase
