our 2nd songwriting retreat
in costa rica at pura vida spa
just recently i had a brush with how great the songwriting
retreat/workshop will be in costa rica dec. 26, 2009 to jan 2, 2010 -
it was on one afternoon of beth's weekend "stargaze songwriting
workshop"in nashville- along w/ beth, we were joined by mary gauthier and
we talked with the students about songs & our songwriting process-
what i can tell you is the combination of styles in writing &
teaching of mary, beth & me will be a great experience and offering for our 7 day
songwriting retreat in costa rica at the pura vida spa at 5000 ft.
elevation above the city of san jose over new years eve - what a
fantastic way to ring in the new year w/ deepened work & commitment
to our songwriting and creative flow- the lucky students who will be
going will have:
- 10 master classes w/ me, beth & mary
- classes both combined & divided among the 3 teachers
- a nightly student run song-share where students play their tunes and create community within the group
- 3 fantastic whole, healthy & in-season gourmet meals per day (fresh fruits & veggies in season)
- yoga offered twice per day included in the cost (morning and afternoon) in a beautiful yoga pavillion
- a variety of expeditions (whitewater rafting, volcanoes, zip line in the canopy) available at additional cost
- access to the very best in body & energy work (this IS a world class spa- the best i've ever had) available at additional cost
- and a new years eve feast & display of fireworks in the valley below from our 5000 ft. perch that you will never forget- included
this will be my second year to lead this intensive at pura vida spa and my third year to be there at this time of year-
the rainy season is finished & the weather is paradise- and i find
the weather, food, yoga, views & grounds, & body/energy work
to be perfect for what beth, mary & i are bringing to this work of
helping students breakthrough their creative stumbling blocks and get
on with telling their truth in writing & song
no "hit-songwriting" posturing here- if you know the body of songs
of beth, mary or me, you'll know we are aiming for something other than
commercial glory - we will be talking more of heart, spirit, soul and
inspiration than fame, hits and marketplace
