SongFood is pleased to announce a Songwriting INTENSIVE, led by Darrell Scott, to be held at the Scarritt Bennett Center in Nashville, TN on September 2-5, 2013!

A BRIEF DESCRIPTION:
This workshop is a session of deep creative work, community building, and focus on the creative process via: songs. By presenting Darrell's own songs in class, and discussing how they came about, and by students presenting their songs or songs-in-progress in class, students will work on the nuts and bolts of the songwriting process as well as discussing the spiritual concepts that fire the creativity behind the songs. The focus will be on digging down deep into our selves, our own stories and observations, to come up with universal experiences, then, how to tell these truths in song. (When we get more revealing, vulnerable, open in our song, the more available the song is to reach another.)


GENERAL SCHEDULE:

• Breakfast: 7:30am to 8:30am

• Morning MASTER Class: 8:45am to 11:15am
  (Guests TBA. Past MASTER Class guests have included: GUY CLARK, MARY
  GAUTHIER, BETH NIELSEN CHAPMAN and DAVID OLNEY.)

• Lunch Time: 11:30am to 1pm
  (Many restaurant choices within walking distance.)

• Open Time: 1pm to 2:30pm
  (Individual students meeting one-on-one w/ Darrell.)

• Afternoon Class: 2:30pm to 4:15pm
  (We will break into small groups with different songwriter/teachers
  listening/leading.)

• Group Session: 4:30pm to 5:15pm
  (We will meet back up as a full class for a wrap up of each day.)

• Dinner Time: 5:30pm to 6:30pm
  (Many food choices nearby.)

• Song Share Open Mic: 8pm to 11pm
  (student led)

LODGING AT SCARRITT BENNETT CENTER:
Housing is available at SBC which will need to be booked individually with SBC (not through us) for the price of $62/night (plus tax).

Please feel free to go ahead and contact the Scarritt Bennett Center now to make your accommodations and arrangements. We suggest you arrive on Sunday night, September 1st, and stay 5 nights, departing Friday morning, September 6th. The Scarritt Bennett Center will have information on transportation to/from Nashville Airport.
