A once in a lifetime opportunity to ring in the New Year 2010 with Darrell Scott, Beth Nielsen Chapman, and Mary Gauthier, working with them on your songs at 5000 feet above sea level in Costa Rica at Pura Vida Yoga Spa.

Darrell and Mary have taught several songwriting intensives together, and during the most recent workshop in Nashville invited fellow local songwriter Beth Nielsen Chapman to teach a class. It was immediately obvious that the three of come from the same place as songwriters, and it made perfect sense for us to all be back together teaching for a whole week this time. We choose to have the 2nd annual songwriting course in Costa Rica - it's the best place we've ever been for New Year's. There's something wonderful about ringing in the New Year with fellow songwriters and recommitting to the writer's life as the calendar moves ahead to another year.

Watching fireworks in the valley below...from 5000 feet above sea level with new friends and fellow writers is a beautiful thing; looking down the mountain as they explode in mid air below is a memorable experience...

About Darrell Scott:
Born on a tobacco farm in London, Ky., in 1959, and raised in E. Gary, Indiana, Darrell was part of a musical family. His father Wayne, a steelworker by trade but a songwriter in his heart, moved his clan to Southern California when Darrell was 11. Soon Darrell and brothers Denny, Dale, Don, and David were part of their dad’s band, getting on-the-job training in country music as they played its hits on the stages of roadhouses and taverns as far north as Alaska. Known as a prolific singer-songwriter and versatile studio musician, Darrell has released six albums of original songs (four other albums are in the works), including such hits as Travis Tritt's "It's A Great Day To Be Alive," Sara Evans' "Born To Fly" and the Grammy nominated hit for The Dixie Chicks, "Long Time Gone." Named ASCAP songwriter of the year, Darrell is also an award-winning instrumentalist in demand for studio sessions and on tour with Steve Earle's Bluegrass Dukes, Guy Clark, New Grass Revival founder Sam Bush in addition to playing his own live shows which consistently garner enthusiastic reviews. About Mary Gauthier
Mary Gauthier is a Louisiana born, Nashville based songwriter who has released 6 CD’s of original material, and has also had songs recorded by Tim McGraw, Jimmy Buffett, Candi Staton, Blake Shelton and many others. Mary has toured the world playing her original songs for over fifteen years, and has taught songwriting for a decade. Gauthier’s most recent album, “Between Daylight and Dark,” has drawn positive reviews from many sources. The Los Angeles Times said, “With songwriting as powerful as hers, there's no need to go looking for qualifiers, she’s no retro, pre, post, or contemporary anything, she's simply a unique, intrinsically valuable musical voice. About Beth Nielsen Chapman
Beth Nielsen Chapman, Nashville singer-songwriter, breast cancer survivor, has penned numerous hits and written songs for Emmylou Harris, Bette Midler, Elton John, Neil Diamond, Trisha Yearwood, Martina McBride, Bonnie Raitt, Michael McDonald, Faith Hill, Willie Nelson, and Waylon Jennings. Her groundbreaking “Sand & Water,” written and recorded following the death of her husband from cancer in 1994, was performed by Elton John on his 1997 U.S. tour in place of "Candle In The Wind" to honor the memory of Princess Diana. "Deeper Still," released following her successful treatment for breast cancer, was voted "Album Of The Year" by BBC2's Terry Wogan. Beth has also released "Hymns," a collection of ancient Latin hymns and a DVD entitled "If Love Could Say God's Name" recorded at St. Paul's Cathedral in London with the London Oriana Choir.
